STUBBERFIELD

Karl

Bio: Karl Stubberfield is a New Zealand-based artist and musician with a career spanning over three decades. He has recently rediscovered his love of photography and has work hanging in fine arts galleries around New Zealand. He looks forward to expanding his portfolio further abroad.

Born in Ashburton, New Zealand in 1974, Karl spent 28 years honing his craft as a professional drummer playing in bands around New Zealand.

Karl has spent time both in front of and behind the camera. He has worked as an actor with the New Zealand film industry and as a freelance videographer. His passion for this medium led him to co-found the Nelson Film Club in 2001. As President of NFC, Karl endeavored to pass on his knowledge and experience of the film industry to inspire others.

Karl is happy to be behind the camera once again. He uses a variety of recycled materials in his photographs to breathe new life into old or discarded objects.

His photographic art can be seen on his website and is also on display in The Parker Gallery in Nelson, New Zealand and in Queenstown, New Zealand at the Queenstown Gallery of Fine Arts.
