Bio: Melanie has practised as a commercial lawyer for over 20 years. From mid 2010 she immersed herself in her photography with a year of full-time study and has been pursuing personal projects and commissioned work since, while working part-time as a lawyer.

Her focus is people; in particular, discovering more about individuals’ lives as part of the process of portrait taking.

Recent projects include:

‘The Locals’ - an exploration of the fascinating people living in her neighbourhood.

The 100 Days project – this involved photographing a new (usually unknown) person each day for 100 consecutive days.
